How Scheduling Will Make You More Productive During Covid 19

Everyone has been derailed with the Covid-19 pandemic. Your day seems out of whack and every day seems to be the same. Your space is crowded with everyone being home and you cannot find a rhythm. Scheduling is something that can help by making your life seem more normal and it has never been more important.

First, schedule your meals for the week to eliminate this stress. If possible, schedule 1 dinner as a carryout or dine out and do not feel guilty about it because it will eliminate some of the stress too. Once you have scheduled all your meals for the week, make a list of the items needed, and go to the store once. Make dinner different by considering eating outside when the weather is good. Fresh air will bring a whole new perspective by helping reduce stress and eliminating the feeling of being trapped inside. Lastly, have list of your menu in sight for the family so they know what is going on and do not pester you all day about the next meal.

Schedule your workday if are working from home or at your work office. If your workplace has opened back up, still schedule even if you are only going in a few times a week. If you do work from home, make sure you schedule time for lunch away from your desk and take a few breaks during the day. Again, if you can work outside, eat outside, or just take a small walk, this will make a huge difference.

Schedule your workout time next by putting it on your calendar. Whether you are walking, working out at home, or your gym has opened, exercise is a must especially at this time during the pandemic. Do not neglect this important piece on your schedule. Schedule it at the same time you did pre-pandemic. The more you stay on the schedule you had at the beginning of the year, the more normal you will feel.

Those with kids need to schedule what their day will look like too. Whether you now have an occasional babysitter, daycare, or a camp is available, make sure you have a plan for each weekday. Many of the pools and attractions requiring reservations, remember to schedule as far out as possible. do not wait until the last minute.

Schedule time for laundry and cleaning too. For those with kids in middle school or older, assign them a day to do their laundry. Think about scheduling a few chores each day as well. Helping them feel needed and keeping them from being bored, will reduce the stress and work you will need to complete, especially if you are still working.

Try putting your bill paying on your schedule as well. Remember to toss all the ads you will not need in the recycle bin before you come in the house. Less is more when it comes to mail. Many tasks can be put on repeat if you are using an electronic calendar as this will help you not forget something important. The more you schedule, the less you will forget and the more productive you will be.
